Low-Carb Breakfast

Posted on May 27th, 2009 by Esperanza Dodge in Atkins Diet

While I do not believe a lowcarb diet is the way to go all the time, I do believe our bodies can really benefit from having a lowcarb meal here and there, possibly even once a day. Breakfast is a good time to have a lowcarb meal because more than likely you’ll get a heaping of protein for that meal which is needed for stamina throughout the day, plus the lack of sugar will not send your body into wanting more glucose early on.

Start by preparing a two egg omelet with fire roasted salsa mixed in. Fry in extra virgin olive oil. Fold in a half slice of extra sharp cheddar cheese. Top with a sprinkle of sea salt. Serve with slices of tomatoes

For a fruit dish on the side, go for canteloupe. It’s a great low-sugar fruit that tastes great too. You can even sprinkle some Splenda on it if you are in need of some more sweetness.
